skyfall poster analysis

The classic black and white colour scheme is used for the writing and background. all the font is in a bold black colour with a misty hint of white and a clean white background. black font over a white background makes the foreground stand out over the background. Also having black font makes the font easier to read and stands out better than say blue or green.
Daniel Craig is wearing a shirt and tie in this poster. A shirt and tie has been used to stand up to the stereotypical view of James bond which is smart and sophisticated. cuff links is also used to keep the image of Daniel Craig as being the iconic suave character that has been built up and kept throughout the 50 year period off the franchise.
The iconic 007 icon is used twice, one as the background and the other is used below the "Skyfall" title. This has been used to inform the viewer that the film is the next in the franchise. Also the 007 in the background is to lure the audience in as the 007 logo has its own mass audience and has created its own brand awareness.
A release date is on the poster to let the audience know what date the film comes out in cinemas. Teaser poster like this one are used to do many of things for example, realising the date, good marketing, start the watercooler effect and creating a general engima of what the new bond film is going to be like.
Dust is used at the bottom of the poster to convey that it is a ction film. This is used to not only let the audience know that its a action film but also grabs the attenstion of people who like the action genre films. As well as convey action it also is showing us that even though daneil craig/bond is smartly dressed that doesnt mean hes not afraid of getting dirty. This gives me the impresstion that the action in this film is not the old shoot a bullet at a guy and he dies, that it is more of the nitty gritty hand combat and driving into cover which as a action lover myself pleases me.
A gun is used to portray the sterotypical of a james bond film. The overall view of bond that he shoots first and asks questions later. By putting a gun on this teaser poster it starts an egima of how many people does he kill, who gadjets does he get given, what situation he is in to dive backwards while look down the sight of the gun, is he is serious danger, does he get shot. Creating a egima is good because as well as just getting the audience thinking about the film it also can creat the watercooler effects which will then spread through word of mouth.
A stern and bold posture is used by Daniel Craig to show
